Music sensation, Adekunle Gold, has announced the title of his fifth album ‘Tequila Ever After’ set for release in the summer of 2023.
In a video shared on his social media accounts, Adekunle Gold talked about how he has grown as an artist over the years. He explained that ‘Tequila Ever After’ is a significant step in his musical journey, marking the beginning of the Tio Tequila movement.
In the video, Adekunle Gold also shared an interesting story about how the album got its name. He said that after trying Tequila for the first time, he had a special moment of inspiration that led him to create a hit song. This experience motivated him to name his album ‘Tequila Ever After’ and introduced the Tio Tequila wave, which includes popular songs like ‘Party No Dey Stop,‘ ‘Omo Eko,‘ and ‘Do You Mind.‘
Over the past decade, Adekunle Gold has reinvented himself and his music. He started as a master of Highlife music and later became a confident Afro-fusion Popstar. Now, with the Tio Tequila concept, he is exploring different influences and celebrating his achievements.

The Tio Tequila wave has already begun with the release of successful songs like ‘Party No Dey Stop,’ which features the talented Street-pop artist Zinoleesky. Together, they celebrate their journey from the suburbs of Agege to international stardom. This song achieved both commercial success and critical acclaim, reaching the top spot on TurnTable Top 100 and being recognized as the best song of the first quarter of 2023 by Pulse Nigeria.
Adekunle Gold has also released other captivating tracks like ‘Omo Eko,’ which pays tribute to his hometown Lagos in a smooth Amapiano style, and ‘Do You Mind,’ a thrilling blend of Afro-Dancehall.
