Viola Davis reach the EGOT status with her Grammy award




Viola Davis has achieved EGOT status.

The EGOT is the combination of the Emmy award, Grammy award, Oscar and Tony award. She became the 18th person to reach this status.


Viola won a Grammy Award Sunday, Jan. 5, for best audio book, narration, and storytelling recording for her memoir ‘Finding Me’.


The actor has two Tony awards, most recently for Fences in 2010, she won an Emmy in 2015 for how to Get Away with Murder, and won an Oscar in 2017 for the film version of Fences.


In her speech she had said, “I wrote this book to honor the 6-year- old Viola Davis, to honor her, her life, her joy, her trauma, everything. And it has just been such a journey”. “I just EGOT!” she shouted from the stage while giving her speech.
