Supreme Court adjourns Naira swap policy case against CBN till Feb 22

The Supreme Court has adjourned till February 22 hearing in the lawsuit filed by Kaduna, Kogi, and Zamfara states against the Federal Government and Central Bank of Nigeria seeking a restraining order to stop the full implementation of the naira redesign policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The court began hearing the case today February 15.

The CBN had initially set January 31st as the deadline for old notes to be legal tender but later extended it in response to complaints from Nigerians.

However, before the February 10 deadline, Kogi, Kaduna, and Zamfara States approached the Supreme Court, seeking that the central bank is restrained from making that date the deadline.
