Naira Redesign: ICPC discovers N258m in a bank vault, Arrests bank officials

Amidst the ongoing new naira notes crisis in the country, The independent corrupt practices and other related offenses commission has discovered 258 million Naira hidden away in the vault at the head office of Sterling bank.

 

Azuka Ogugua, spokesperson of the anti-graft agency has explained that the new naira notes were found stashed away in the vault.

“Operatives of ICPC discovered the sum of Teo Hundred and Fifty-Eight Million Naira hidden away in the vault at the head office of Sterling Bank in Abuja”, she said

 

According to her, the investigation showed that the money was released by the Central Bank of Nigeria for distribution.

The officials also found out that only 5 million Naira was dispensed to their various branches.

 

Ogugua confirmed that both the Regional and services manager was arrested and later granted bail as the investigation continues.
