We love how you delivered the character Lolu How did you get that role? And how would you describe the experience!

Thank you for loving my delivery of the character. Getting the role came a little seamless as I was my producers’ (both Nigerian and South African producers) choice as soon as I came on board. I jumped on the casting call for the project, sent in a tape then I got called in for a screen test. I had multiple reads during the screen test and it took hours of back and forth. Fun fact, l was the only person who ever had to read for LOLU ADELEKE and I got the role. Asides the anxiety attached to auditions and the casting decision making process, It was an amazing experience for me! Grateful to God and my producers for trusting me to deliver.

How long have you been an actor? And how did it all begin?

I’ve always been one to make imitations and do church dramas since I was pretty young. I never thought I’d be an actor though. My first job as an actor was in 2017, then in 2019 I took acting more seriously. So we can say I’ve been an actor for about 6 years now.

My first major acting gig was a TV series. I was recommended to the producers by Justice Eze (I call him Dad). I did a closed reading for the role and I got it. And since then acting has been something I’ve enjoyed doing.

What would you say influenced your passion for acting and getting into the Entertainment Industry?

I’d say being blessed with the multiple talents I have influenced my passion for acting and the entertainment industry as a whole. I loved being in that space because it just felt natural. I didn’t start off as an actor, I started off as a performing percussionist-that explains where ‘Fantasticks’ came from. As soon as I ventured into entertainment and acting, I knew this was something I’d love to do for the rest of my life.

What was the most challenging part of being Lolu?

The headspace I had to be in for a character that wears his heart on his sleeves, quite emotional and has so much character development in one story wasn’t an easy one. Lolu has so much emotional drama even down to his sexuality. I got too invested in my character and stepping out of that headspace will take a while for me.
