Driver and passenger died on spot as truck suffered break failure in Ikotun, Lagos State




Two persons were confirmed dead after a truck suffered break failure and crushed tricycles in Ikotun.


The accident which occured  around 12:30pm on Tuesday, January 31 after a full loaded container truck suffered break failure and rammed into commercial tricycles around Ikotun, Lagos State. The driver of one of the tricycles with one passenger died on spot.


Officers of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, however rescued four passengers. Those four rescued include two pregnant women and two children.


The LASTMA officers immediately handed over the rescued victims to the Nigerian police officers from Ikotun Police who were also present at the scene and they were taken to the General Hospital for treatment.

The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr Bolaji Oregba has warned truck drivers to ensure their truck are in good condition before they embark on a journey.
