‘Agriculture and quality education’ – Presidential candidate, Peter Obi’s promise to Northern Nigeria



Labour Party Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, promised to improve Northern Nigeria’s economy through agriculture and quality education.

He made this promise during a pre-campaign rally meeting in Dutse, Jigawa State capital, particularly addressing women and youth.

A Media Office in Abuja quoted Obi saying If he and his Vice Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmad were elected, they will develop Jigawa and transform its agricultural land for goods production and export.

He pledged his commitment to securing the country, moving from consumption to production and engaging the productive youth. Obi assured the youth of quality education and urged them to do all possible to win back their country


Obi said  “With Nigeria’s abundant resources, over 133 million people should not have to  live in poverty”


He plans to develop Jigawa by opening its borders and preparing the state for export activities. He said, the election should be purely by the people’s wish for a competent and trustworthy leader with an unquestionable record.
