The farmers-herders problem has only been resolved by my government, according to Buhari



President Muhammadu Buhari has insisted that only his administration has put a stop to the long-running herder/farmer conflicts, which have been made worse by desertification and population growth.

The National Livestock Transformation Plan, which placea ranching at its core, is the only way to eliminate the resource competition at the heart of the conflicts, according to the President in an interview with Bloomberg.

Despite the fact that disagreement have significantly decreased, Buhari claimed that certain governors have tried to play politics in areas where ranchers have been developed.

Regarding the fight against terrorism, President Buhari stated that in 2015, Boko Haram controlled a region inside the boundaries of Nigeria the size of Belgium. However, he claimed that a military force, terrorists are almost gone nowadays.

Buhari while reiterating that when a leader of ISWAP was eliminated by an airstrike by the Nigerian Airforce in March, it was noted that the US-purchased jets and British-shared intelligence were not made available to previous administrations and serve as testament to the renewed trust that has been re-established between Nigeria and our longtme allies in the West under his government.

He said; 

“Terrorists no longer hold any territory in Nigeria, and their leaders are deceased; and vast infrastructure development sets the country on course for sustainable and equitable growth.”
