After meeting with President Zelensky in Kyiv, US actor/director Ben Stiller exclaims, “You’re my hero!”

On Monday, June 21st, Hollywood actor and director Ben Stiller met with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv.

According to a press release on the Ukraine leader’s official website, he visited Ukraine as a UHHCR Goodwill Ambassador and met with Zelensky after touring occupied settlements in the Kyiv region.

Stiller and Zelensky enthusiastically greeted each other in a video broadcast to Twitter before sitting down to discuss the hardship of refugees in the war-torn country who were displaced by Russia’s military assault.

“You’re my hero!” Stiller exclaimed at one point during his visit, which coincided with World Refugee Day.

Stiller was accompanied by Karolina lindholm Billing, a UNHCR official in Ukraine, who accompanied the Hollywood actor on a stroll through Irpin’s damaged residential districts, where they spoke with people who had survived the war.

“It’s one thing to see this destruction on TV or on social networks. Another thing is to see it all with your own eyes. That’s a lot more shocking,” Stiller told Zelensky

“What you saw in Irpin is definitely dreadful. But it is even worse to just imagine what is happening in the settlements that are still under temporary occupation in the east,” Zelensky said in response.

The rights of Ukraine forcibly transferred to Russia, including children, were also violated, according to Zelensky.

Russia President, Vladmir Putin, began a military assault in Ukraine in late February, which was subsequently turned into a worldwide crisis.
