Emir of Rano, Alhaji, Dr. Tafida Abubakar Ila-II who was one of the newly inaugurated Emirs in Kano after Governor Abdullahi Ganduje Balkanized the Emirates has been confirmed dead hours after he was hospitalized on Friday.
He died at a hospital in Kano on Saturday, almost one year after the Kano State Government created four new Emirate Councils and made him a first-class Emir in Rano.
A member of the House of Representatives and Turakin Rano, Alhassan Rurum, confirmed the death of the emir. The lawmakers said the Emir died at a hospital after a brief illness. He is survived by 17 children and two wives, Channels TV reports.
Nigeria Records 220 New Cases Of COVID-19
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has confirmed 220 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.
The centre announced this on its twitter handle on Saturday midnight at 11:5pm. The breakdown of the new cases:
“62 -Lagos, 52- FCT, 31- Kaduna, 13- Sokoto, 10- Kebbi, 9- Yobe, 6- Borno, 5- Edo, 5- Bauchi, 4- Gombe, 4- Enugu, 4- Oyo, 3- Zamfara, 2- Nasarawa, 2-Osun, 2- Ebonyi 2- Kwara, 2- Kano, 2 -Plateau.”
With these new cases, Nigeria now has a total of 2388 confirmed cases of Corona-virus, 385 have been discharged and 85 deaths recorded.
