TELL US ABOUT YOUR LINE OF BUSINESS. HOW DID THE IDEA OF YOUR BUSINESS COME ABOUT?
Sneakersplace is a strictly wholesale online and offline shop.
We deal on everything and anything footwear for both adult and kids for all Gender at the BEST AFFORDABLE PRICE within the BEST DELIVERY TIME which is not more than 2 days anywhere within the country and not more than a week for other african countires.
The idea for Sneakersplace came when i left my paid employment in october 2018, i woke up one Morning in March 2018 and told myself i was done working at the establishment but i didnt get to leave till October. I tried to get another job but everytime i get an interview invite i drag myself there so i knew I was truly done working.
The big question became what do we do next, i knew i wanted business but which? When i finally decided on footwear out of my love for trendy kick the major issue now became how do i sell, and then i thought to myself; the world is a global village and things are now digital. So what will a digital market be like?
BANG! facebook is an example of a digital global world so i went to Facebook that very day to search out brands on footwears and also launched an advert for buyers and that was it. We got started.
WHY DO YOUR CUSTOMERS CHOOSE YOU OVER YOUR COMPETITORS?
WELL for starters Sneakersplace is a customer Oriented outfit, our major decisions are taken with our customers in mind. One of our major selling point is the fact that we created offer for the least possible buyer which is the fact that we sell 10pairs. A Lot other wholesalers dont go any lesser than half carton but we go lesser to accomodate more people and to do our part in creating source of livelihood with THE BEST AFFORDABLE PRICE and BEST DELIVERY TIME EVER. But most importantly is the fact that we run monthly free training on business for our customers, infact we presently doing a POST COVID BUSINESS TRAINING.
HOW DID YOU FUND YOUR BUSINESS AT STARTUP?
Hmmmn it was not easy ooo.. well to be sincere Sneakersplace started with dropshipping yes we dropshipped first. Our first deal came in the same week we started which was a purchase of 20pairs of kiddies slipon then came another 20 pairs and another 10 pairs all within our first 2 weeks so i decided to pull up some fund from my saving and invest which was 100k
Then we reinvested every dime and more we made from the first investement and added more and more and grew from there…
WE never borrowed so it wasnt easy and we didn’t initially grow as fast as we were suppose to but Now we import thousands pairs directly from producers abroad and we look forward to producing our own brand with our specifications.
WHAT HAVE BEEN SOME OF YOUR FAILURES AND WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT FROM THEM?
My first failure was me losing memebers and potential customers at the initial stage.
What happened was when we started we didn’t get the right suppliers and what that mearnt was that by the time we added our markup our price becomes too much (which is why we always emphaised on BEST AFFORDABLE PRICE NOW).
So we lost so many good leads. and that thought me to go searching looking for direct supplier and Now we are dealing directly with the factories abroad.
Also another mistake was not paying attention to growing our online base and fans… we just gathered customers through a channel and was selling brick and motar without paying good attention to online growth.
WHAT SACRIFICES HAVE YOU HAD TO MAKE AS AN ENTREPRENEUR?
ALOT OF SACRIFICE.
one was my Masters degree i was chasing then, i had to pause it. Another was my friends (i almost became a loner LOL) some haven’t forgiven me still.
I also lost anything called social or personal time,because i had to Focus real hard to survive.
