TELL US ABOUT YOUR LINE OF BUSINESS. HOW DID THE IDEA OF YOUR BUSINESS COME ABOUT?
The whole idea came when I had my first child and the company I was working with then told me to go for a 6 months maternity leave without pay and the chances of them calling me back was slim. So, my husband suggested about 20 business ideas, that I could venture into. I was confused and didn’t know the next step to take.
One day, while surfing the net, I discovered a bedding’s page which instantly got my attention. And I decided that was the business for me. After series of research, Helen Beddings and more was birthed.
WHY DO YOUR CUSTOMERS CHOOSE YOU OVER YOUR COMPETITORS?
My customers believe in my brand. We sell quality, beautiful and TRENDY bed-sheets at affordable prices. I don’t compromise my standard.
WHAT HAVE BEEN SOME OF YOUR FAILURES AND WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT FROM THEM?
I could remember at the early stage of my business, I rushed to pay for a trade-fair stand and ended up running at a loss.
What i learnt from this is to always make inquiries about the organizers of any fair and also make sure i have lots of publicity before any event.
HOW DID YOU FUND YOUR BUSINESS AT STARTUP?
I had some savings while I was still working so it was quite easy for me, and i also got some support from my husband.
WHAT SACRIFICES HAVE YOU HAD TO MAKE AS AN ENTREPRENEUR
SLEEP is very important. I usually stay up late, attending to client and taking orders. I wake up quite early to get all my tasks and orders intact.
