Today, we have the Ceo of GlassesByEse, – Onohwakpor Ese share her brand story!

TELL US ABOUT YOUR LINE OF BUSINESS. HOW DID THE IDEA OF YOUR BUSINESS COME ABOUT?

We deal on all kind of eye wears (Optical and Cosmetic/Beauty Frames), our products can be rocked by both male and female.
These eye wears can also be used for prescription lens.

In January 2019, I came across a sponsored ads about eye wears, and that drew my attention. I thought about it and also made some enquiries because I figured it is a very lucrative business.

So by January 19th 2019. I purchased my first products, which were just 10 pairs of sunglasses.

WHY DO YOUR CUSTOMERS CHOOSE YOU OVER YOUR COMPETITORS?

One thing I would say is that the way you present your business matters a lot. My business page on IG always speak for me.
I always put in my best, I make sure my page is well arranged and beautiful. I have a pattern on how I upload my products. And lastly, I’m always patient with my customers.

HOW DID YOU FUND YOUR BUSINESS AT STARTUP?

With my savings, and I’m so glad I ventured into this business with that little savings of mine.

WHAT HAVE BEEN SOME OF YOUR FAILURES AND WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT FROM THEM?

There was a time I wanted to give up, because I thought I wasn’t doing it right. Business wasn’t going well and people weren’t placing orders.

I learnt that as an entrepreneur you shouldn’t give up that easily, you go through an extra mile to make your business grow. You strategize on new/different ways to make your business grow.

WHAT SACRIFICES HAVE YOU HAD TO MAKE AS AN ENTREPRENEUR?

I sent out free goods to people just for tags, because I wanted my business to be known. I wasn’t really about the profits at first, but that didn’t work out.

I also made mistakes of sending wrong goods to some customers, I had to resend and I lost a whole lot.

I did all this just to keep my relationship with my customers and to make my brand grow.
