Describe Chy in 3 words.

Optimistic, Resilient and Easy-going

Tell us about Chy Nwakanma; what’s your story? Where you’re from, age, educational background. Etc

Born in Aba, Abia state. I moved to the United States at age 11. I lived there for about 13 years before I moved back to Nigeria to pursue my acting career. I graduated from the University of Illinois At Chicago with a Bachelor’s degree in performing arts with the focus in Acting. So here I am, living the dream lol

We have seen you take on interesting roles and you wear your character so well. Is it usually difficult fitting into a particular role?

No matter how challenging a certain character may look, the ground work is still the same. The questions you ask yourself about the character remains the same whether you’re playing a serial killer or A saint. So I approach all my characters the same way and try to be as truthful as possible in every given situation. Yes for some characters it’s more challenging to get to their truths, especially if you’ve never experienced the situation first hand, but there are different techniques to get you there.

What attracted you to begin a career as an actor?

The entertainment industry is constantly growing and advancing so we’re making progress. If I could change one thing, I would create more access to funds. In the Nigerian Entertainment world today. Who would you say inspires you to become more in terms of Acting?

In the Nigerian Entertainment Industry, hmmmm…so here’s the thing, I’m usually more inspired by people’s personal stories of their struggles or challenges, because once I can relate to or have similar challenges, it’s a “light at the end of the tunnel” and it helps boost my confidence and faith. But unfortunately We don’t have that privilege with our entertainers. They hardly share their stories so all we see and know is the glam on social media and that’s it. So this question is one that I honestly have no answer to.

Well I’m ready for whatever is coming next lol. I sha found where to buy water.
