I am Fun loving, passionate, soulful, evolving and fashionable.
Tell us about yourself, full name, education, religion? what’s your story in a nutshell.
My name is Enado Odigie, last of 5 kids and I’m from Edo State. I’m from a Christian family, graduated from the university of Benin, from the department of English and Literature. I use to do 9 to 5 and now I’m an actor
How did Acting Begin for you, share with us your journey to the movie industry.
Usually my friends always make me attend auditions they hear about. I remember telling a friend of mine that’s an actor that I’d like to give film a shot and he told me about an audition which I attended and got the role.
You’ve been part of an intresting web series – TMC and we’ve seen you in movies like Esohe. Can you tell us what its like being part of each projects?
It was particularly exciting for Esohe because it was me getting to play an epic role, and the movie was shot in some of my ancestral home. So it was very exciting for me, an experience that took me back to my root.
TMC is my first web series, and my character is kinda new to me, a little different from what I’ve done before. And everyone on TMC is cool. We’re all cool like that.
What projects are you currently working on and what should we expect from you in 2019?
As you may know, TMC season 2 is out and we’re planning on shooting season 3 this year. However there are projects that are actually lined up that I’m about to jump on we’re just waiting for shoot to commence, I’m also reading scripts, on pre-production talks at the moment! but i can’t give away a lot of details because of certain technicalities. For movies, there are quite a few that have been done, just did and in the works.
What is the one thing, people will be surprised to know about you?
I’m quite playful and actually friendly. I don’t know why.
Why did you choose acting as a career path?
Its simple! I love acting! It’s the one career that allows you to live multiple lives and it’s for a few days! Without you being crazy. I get to live many lives and I get to have different experiences more than i would have.
How long have you been acting?
I’ve been acting since i was a kid, but in the industry my first gig was in 2012. But I finally decided to take up acting professionally in 2015.
This might sound cunny, but rest of mind. When you’re at peace and when you’re well rested, those things can do such amazing wonders to your skin, your eyes, your appearance. And ofcourse you’ll want to eat well, sleep well, eat the right kind of things, use products that are good for your skin. I personally do a lot of the natural stuffs, stick to what is good for you and make it the best. Don’t follow trends. Oh; and one more thing – mind your business and drink plenty of water. That’s very important.
What Actors would you like to work with in the future?
OMG! That list is actually quite long, Merlyn Streep, Helen Mirren, Sandra Bullock, Ryan Reynolds, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson, a lot of our veterans – Joke Sylva, Olu Jacobs, Pete Edochie, Genevieve Nnaji oh and Taraji P Henson (I so Love Taraji) and Ireti Doyle, I’ve worked with Shaffy Bello and I’ll love to work with her again. Gabriel Macht (Oh by the way I’d love to be in Suit)
If not acting, what other career would you have chosen?
I’d have chosen psychology, because I like to understand how the human mind works, basically analysing human behaviour would be a trill for me. Another career choice would be anything that requires a lot of travel, the kind that provides travel explore opportunities. That would be the dream job.
In which area would you like to improve as an actor?
The truth is, it’s not such an improvement thing. But I’d like to play the roles that are less intense than a lot of the roles that I’ve been getting. Things that are more cheerful and a bit more versatile. I’ve been getting similar roles, but I’d like to explore, take on roles like maybe a Religious Leader, a Bad Boss, someone Mean of some sort. Not action doe, I’m not ready! Maybe in the future.
What sort of acting roles will you be looking out for in the future?
I’m looking for strong characters, strong story lines. I want characters that will push me. If possible no house wife! So basically characters like Carrie from Sex and the City, Olivia Pope from the Fixer, Bull from Bull series. Those are the type of roles that I’m looking for. Where the character is strong! story lines that give the character opportunity to grow and evolve. I think that i’d want to do a few more series not just movies. So strong characters that have personality, but less intense. You know let’s do other things, I can do other things.
Who in the whole world inspires you most and why?
I could give you a long list of people both living and dead that inspire me, there is no shortage of inspiration – from Oprah Winfrey, Coco Channel’s, to the Audrey Edmunds, Maya Angelou, Dora Akunyili, my father, my siblings and friends, Mahatma Gandhi, the Dalai Lama. There is a long list… but my greatest inspiration is my past self and my future self. The girl that I was once, the woman that I am and the person that I’m becoming.
What is on your bucket list?
Skydiving! More important to me is Seeing the northern light.
Describe your life using film titles.
The devil wears Prada.
What do you like doing in your spare time?
Chill, catch up with friends and family: hangout, most times I’m on the phone. Other times it’s just me being by myself. Watch a movie, read a good book, listen to music, dance and just chill.
Who is your celebrity crush?
Right now Chris Hemsworth! He just does it for me.
Your favourite song at the moment?
It’s difficult to pick, because I love diffrent songs from different artists and Genes for different reasons. But I’d pick Gesaffelstein and the Weekend. “Lost in the fire” then, ‘idontwonnabeyou’ by Billie Eillish.
What is one thing you wish you knew when you were younger?
There are no bad experiences per say. Worst case scenario you’ll learn. You’ll make mistakes. But it all comes down to one thing – making you a better person.
What’s your biggest screw up in the kitchen?
There was a time I was making sauce, and was distracted by what was going on; on TV. So it was fried a little too dry. It was still edible, doe it earned me a title in my house “Enado Special”.
What celebrity would you rate as a perfect 10?
Based on what’s important to me, there are a lot of people that are a perfect 10. For me if you have something great going on for you, beyond just being a celebrity and you’re actually touching lives. With someone like Beyonce, I see a lot of tenacity and strength! She’s not just a pretty face, or a great voice. she is the evident of what it is to push yourself to the limit. But I’ll say Oprah! She’s touching lives, making a change, influencing for all the right reasons.
What did you want to be when you were a kid?
I wanted to be a lot of things, there was a time I wanted to be an accountant, a doctor, and then an architect. I did know that I was going to do TV. Somehow I wanted to be in TV and still be all of this things.
First app you check when you wake up in the morning?
The first thing I check for is text messages and missed calls, before I check Instagram.
Single or secretly married?
Very single, if I was married! Trust me it wouldn’t be a secret.
